| Outcomes: Students are able to recognise and discuss psychological issues relevant to performance in sport and exercise; critically analyse applications of psychological theory to sport and exercise behaviour; and develop practical skills in data collection, data analysis and scientific report writing. |

| Content: This unit covers topics such as the social psychology of competition, personality, arousal and emotion, motivation and performance enhancement interventions. Field experiences in data collection/analysis are used to supplement lecture material. |

| Assessment: This comprises a mid-semester examination (30 per cent), an end-of-semester examination (40 per cent) and a semester project (30 per cent). |
